Newfoundland, NL – January 11, 2025 – In a highly anticipated matchup, the Newfoundland Rogues (9-4) defeated the Pontiac Pharaohs (3-8) with a final score of 132 to 106, marking a decisive win in the first game of their two-game miniseries.
The game unfolded at the Newfoundland Arena, where the Rogues showcased impressive teamwork and offensive prowess. The Rogues outperformed the Pharaohs in key statistics, shooting 51.0% from the field compared to Pontiac’s 40.9%. Their three-point shooting was particularly notable, with Newfoundland converting 45.2% of their attempts, while the Pharaohs managed only 32.4%.
The match saw a strong performance from Dedrick Boyd, who led the Rogues with 24 points, while Abdulla Yusuf contributed a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Zaahir Woody and Graddy Kanku also made significant impacts, scoring 17 and 17 points, respectively.
