Basketball Super League Player of the Week – Jan. 12-18

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Basketball Super League has named Montreal Toundra guard, Jeremy Hayes, BSL Player of the Week for January 12-18 after a dominant two-game stretch. In those two outings, Hayes totalled 42 points, shooting an impressive 54.5 percent from the field, 50 percent from three-point range, and 93.3 percent from the free-throw line, while also recording 10 rebounds and 17 assists.

The 29-year-old from Roseland, LA, had an efficient week helping the Montreal Toundra go 2-0. On January 17th against the Lake Erie Jackals, Hayes racked up 15 points, 13 assists and five rebounds, while also going eight for eight from the free-throw line.

Back home in Montreal the next day, Hayes dominated with 27 points in a close win over the Windsor Express. Hayes was nearly unstoppable, shooting 81.8% overall and 75% from three, while also adding five rebounds and four assists. His impact on all aspects of the court and his dominance on the stat sheet helped him earn the league’s Player of the Week.

Through six games this season, Hayes is averaging 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game while shooting an efficient 51.3 percent from the field, helping Montreal to a current third-place position in the league.
