(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Basketball Super League has named KW Titans small forward Tarkus Ferguson the Player of the Week for January 19-25 after a strong two-game weekend.
Ferguson in those two games was outstanding on both ends of the court, averaging 26 points, shooting 53% from the field, 47 percent from three, and a perfect four for four through both games at the free-throw line. His offensive efficiency was matched by his all-around production as he added 11 rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks.
Serving as the spark for the Titans’ offence throughout the weekend, the 28-year-old Belleville, IL, native displayed his ability to score while creating scoring chances for his teammates. Ferguson had a productive weekend for the KW Titans, who split their matchups with the Windsor Express and went 1-1. Coming off the bench on Saturday, Ferguson finished the game with 28 points in 36 minutes, recording four assists, seven rebounds, one steal and one block.
Less than 24 hours after his 28-point performance, Tarkus Ferguson had yet another strong outing in front of his home crowd. Ferguson led the way offensively, putting up 24 points over 34 minutes played, while also adding his name across the stat sheet with four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block, helping the Titans bounce back with a 106-87 win. Ferguson’s commanding play this past weekend has earned him the honours of BSL Player of the Week.
Ferguson in 11 games played this season is averaging 14.9 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 3.4 assists per game, and shooting 43.3% from the field.
