(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Basketball Super League has named Sudbury Five shooting guard Charlie Marquardt the Player of the Week for January 26th – February 1st after a strong outing on Sunday.
Marquardt in Sunday’s game was red hot, helping the Five battle back and defeat the Express 105-97 in a tight battle until the buzzer. Marquardt put up 34 points while shooting an impressive 66.7% from the floor and a huge 70% from three. Along with his outstanding offensive performance, Marquardt tallied six rebounds and two assists. His impressive outing helped him receive the top honour of BSL Player of the Week.
Marquardt, in 8 games played this season, is averaging 24.0 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 1.6 assists per game, and shooting 43.7% from the field.
