(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Basketball Super League has named Windsor Express point guard Latin Davis as the BSL Player of the Week retroactive the week of January 5th to 11th. The reigning BSL MVP totalled 72 points, shooting over 60% from the field and from three. Davis also gathered five steals, eight rebounds, and 13 assists in two games.
The Ypsilanti native had a dominant two-game week to help earn himself the top honours of BSL Player of the Week. Against the Lake Erie Jackals on January 7th, Davis was unstoppable, putting up 44 points while shooting at a highly efficient 70% field goal percentage. He also went nine for 12 from three (75%) and a perfect seven for seven from the free throw line. His outstanding performance helped the Windsor Express win 119-96.
Davis backed it up with another strong performance in Sudbury against the defending champions, the Sudbury Five, scoring 28 points in a 120-107 road win. He has been off to a hot start to the season, averaging 22 points, shooting 46.5% from field goal, 32% from three, and seven assists per game.
