Lake Erie Jackals Formally Recognized for the 2025-26 Season

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Basketball Super League is excited to formally recognize the Lake Erie Jackals to 2025/26 Basketball Super League play.

Formally the Jamestown Jackals, the Lake Erie Jackals will now represent Erie while still honouring Chautauqua & Warren County roots. The only American team competing for the 2025/26 BSL championship, Lake Erie will host their 12 home games this season at the Hagerty Family Events Center.

The organization emphasized that the rebrand is not about leaving the past behind, but expanding upon it. Since 2015, the Jackals name has become known around the world for player development, character-building programs, and international basketball opportunities. The legacy of Jackals basketball will now continue with a new home court and a broader regional identity.

“We are incredibly excited to introduce the Lake Erie Jackals to this community,” said Kayla Crosby, Executive Director of #IntegrityFirst, Inc. and Team Market Owner of the Jackals. “This new name represents a regional identity that fully embraces Erie as our home, without losing the history, credibility, and international brand we’ve built over the last 10 years. We want Erie to feel ownership of this team.”
